Job summary

InTownSuites is seeking a Floating General Manager to oversee operations at multiple properties within the market. You will cover for General Managers on days off, vacations, or absences, and take on short-term assignments including local marketing and staff training.

The role requires leadership experience, a solid understanding of Front Office operations, and the ability to travel up to 90% with potential overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
• Read, speak, write and understand English to interact with guests and staff.
• Ability to read and interpret reports and internal hotel information.
• Mathematical skills to forecast revenue, occupancy and labor costs.
• General computer proficiency.
• Thorough knowledge of Front Office operations and guest etiquette.
• Ability to work long hours and adapt to business needs.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple activities in stressful situations.
• Ability to supervise and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Operate properties in the absence of a General Manager as needed.
• Follow the General Manager Daily Flow when acting as GM.
• Develop expertise on the computer operating system.
• Assist in recruitment of General Managers and other staff.
• Train, develop and support property staff.
• Drive sales through local marketing as directed by Regional Operations Manager.
• Ensure and provide excellent guest service.
• Identify and manage repair and maintenance issues.
• Identify and follow up on life/safety issues and inspections.
• Notify Regional Operations Manager of safety, security or policy violations; address guest concerns.
• Monitor market competitors as directed by the Regional Operations Manager.
• Help meet budgets through cost and inventory control.
• Help properties maximize financial performance.
• Travel and/or overnight stays will be required.
