Job summary

InTown Suites is seeking a Floating General Manager to oversee operations at assigned properties within the market. The role covers coverage for General Managers on days off and vacations, with short-term assignments across properties, including local marketing and staff training.

The Floating GM will travel frequently, manage front-office operations, ensure guest satisfaction, and support budget and financial performance while coordinating with the Regional Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and a functioning automobile.
• Read, speak, write and understand the English language to interact with guests, staff, handle administrative duties, etc.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret information found in a variety of reports and other internal hotel information.
• Sufficient mathematical skills to prepare forecasts and reports, calculate room revenue, average rate, occupancy percentage and labor costs.

Responsibilities

• Operates properties in the absence of a General Manager as needed.
• Follows General Manager Daily Flow when acting as a General Manager.
• Develop expertise on computer operating system.
• Assists in recruitment of General Managers and other property staff.
• Training, development and support of property staff.
• Drive sales through local marketing as directed by the Regional Operations Manager.
• Ensure and provide excellent guest service.
• Identify and manage repair and maintenance issues.
• Identify and follow up on life/safety issues and inspection issues.
• Notify Regional Operations Manager immediately of any safety, security and/or violations of policy.
• Notify Regional Operations Manager of any guest concerns.
• Monitor competitors in markets as directed by the Regional Operations Manager.
• Helps meet budgets through effective cost and inventory control.
• Helps properties maximize financial performance.
• Travel and/or overnight stay will be required.
