Job summary

InTown Suites seeks a Floating General Manager to oversee operations at assigned properties within the market. You will cover for General Managers on days off, vacations, or absences and execute short-term assignments across all properties in the market, including staff training and quality assurance work as directed by the Regional Operations Manager.

You will lead guest services, manage financial performance, and drive local marketing efforts.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and a functioning automobile.
• Read, speak, write and understand English to interact with guests and staff.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret information from reports and internal hotel information.
• Sufficient mathematical skills to prepare forecasts, calculate room revenue, occupancy and labor costs.

Responsibilities

• Operate properties in the absence of a General Manager as needed.
• Follow General Manager daily workflow when acting as a General Manager.
• Develop expertise on computer operating systems used in hotel operations.
• Assist in recruitment of General Managers and other staff.
• Provide training, development and support to property staff.
• Drive sales through local marketing and calls as directed by Regional Operations Manager.
• Ensure and provide excellent guest service.
• Identify and manage repairs and maintenance issues.
• Address life/safety issues and inspection concerns.
• Notify Regional Operations Manager of safety, security or policy violations and guest concerns.
• Monitor competitors within the market as directed.
• Assist in meeting budgets through cost and inventory controls.
• Support properties in maximizing financial performance.
• Travel and overnight stays may be required.
