Job summary

Colonial Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a registered nurse to float across multiple surgery centers in the Phoenix area. The role involves assessing and delivering nursing care, coordinating with the care team, and ensuring patient safety during perioperative periods.

This float position requires a 4-shift per month commitment, Monday through Friday, with no on-call duties. Candidates should have an active RN license, BLS/ACLS, and PACU or PreOp experience; PALS may be required for pediatrics

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing, or higher.
• Current RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS certification required within 90 days of start date if assigned ASC services pediatrics.
• Core (FT/PT): Minimum one-year licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU (i.e. ICU, ED)
• Licensed RN with no experience in PreOp/PACU and enrolled in Perianesthesia Academy with successful completion within 4 months.
• New licensed RN enrolled in the Perianesthesia Academy with successful completion within 4 months.
• PRN: Minimum two years licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and post-operative planning needs.
• Formulates a plan of care and discharge plan with patient/family and health team input.
• Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination and supervision of the health care team.
• Evaluates patient progress and revises the plan of care as needed.
• Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
• Provides care based on the best evidence and participates in facility leadership and education.
