Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Float Nurse to provide compassionate care across inpatient units at a 295-bed acute care facility serving 11 counties in south central Kentucky.

You will assess patient needs, administer treatments, document care, and collaborate with interprofessional teams. Requires an RN license in Kentucky and 1–2 years bedside experience; BCLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred. Rotating weekends with 6:30-7:00 start times.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking and clinical decision making required.
• Ability to quickly learn and navigate clinical software systems.
• Clear English communication in reading, writing and speaking.
• Must complete Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process across inpatient units.
• Float where needed and collaborate with interprofessional teams.
• Administer medications and perform related clinical care.
• Document care promptly and accurately.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate with the care team and families.
• Assist with activities of daily living and coordinate transfers/discharges.
• Educate patients and families; participate in performance improvement.
