Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Float Pool team at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. This full-time night position involves providing compassionate patient care across multiple inpatient units while assisting with staffing needs, especially during nights and rotating weekends. A commitment bonus of $20,000 is offered for a two-year commitment, with the first year required on nights. Candidates must have an Associate’s degree in nursing and a current RN license in their state.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years minimum bedside RN experience required; 2–4 years critical care experience preferred.
  • Current RN license in state of practice.
  • BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.

Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool – Nights | Full Time | 6:30-7:00 | Rotating Weekends

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is part of Lifepoint Health, a decentralized healthcare delivery network. As an RN in our Float Pool you will provide compassionate care to patients across multiple inpatient units while assisting with staffing needs on nights and rotating weekends. The role offers a commitment bonus of $20,000 for a two‑year employment commitment—one year required on nights.

Position Overview

The RN will:

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice across multiple inpatient units.
  • Perform plan‑of‑care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
  • Document care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
  • Display initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
  • Assess learning needs; provide age‑ and culture‑appropriate patient/family education.
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
  • Participate in performance improvement and required education; work other shifts/units as needed and may take on‑call assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Patient Populations Served
  • Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other biological/chemical hazards may be present.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, keyboard entry, repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional sitting, squatting, kneeling; rare running or climbing.

Key Qualifications
