Job summary

Lifepoint Health is hiring a Float Registered Nurse (RN) in Georgetown, KY. The role supports patient care across units, with 3x12‑hour day shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.) and rotating weekends. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for eligible candidates.

The Float RN provides comprehensive nursing care, medication administration, specimen collection, and patient education while adapting quickly to changing unit needs. Strong critical‑care experience and Kentucky licensure are required.

Qualifications

  • Active Kentucky RN license or compact license.
  • Assoc degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • BLS certification; ACLS & PALS as required by unit.
  • National certification within one year of employment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of critical-care experience.
  • Strong critical-thinking and ability to work independently in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver patient care interventions, including medication administration and specimen collection.
  • Document patient care and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
  • Evaluate learning needs and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, and condition.
  • Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Coordinate and supervise daily staffing assignments and levels.
  • Provide direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff; assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Perform staff responsibilities as required to maintain service levels.
  • Lead the resolution of complex issues and complaints.

About the Role

As a Float RN you will support patient care across almost all units, adapt quickly to changing needs, and provide comprehensive nursing care including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and daily living activities.
