Job summary

UPMC - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking a Float Physical Therapist to support our North Pod. The role includes evaluating patients, creating individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapy in a dynamic outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Active license in practicing state required. CPR per 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments.
• Develop and adjust care plans based on patient progress.
• Document care, outcomes, and discharge planning.
• Communicate patient status with physicians and healthcare team.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants.
• Provide home exercise programs and education to patients and families.
• Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and continuing education.
• May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students and residents.

Float Physical Therapist

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. This is a float role that will work in our North Pod.
No weekends No holidays No on-call

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.

• Outpatient experience, preferred

  Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Physical Therapist (PT)
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
