Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Float Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based therapy across our North Pod. This role rotates through treatment areas with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call requirements.

New graduates are welcome, and we offer training. Eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus, competitive pay, generous PTO, holidays, loan forgiveness eligibility, and tuition

Qualifications

• Must hold a current PT license in Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress.
• Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning.
• Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and provide patient education.

Float Physical Therapist

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress
• Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning
• Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants
• Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education
• Rotate through treatment areas as needed
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development
• May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students and residents
