Job summary

UPMC - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, create personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapy to improve mobility and quality of life. This role emphasizes patient-centered care and collaboration with a diverse healthcare team.

New graduates are welcome and training is available. Schedule is Monday–Friday, with no weekends or holidays and no on-call duties, supporting work–life balance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PT program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Active license in practicing state.
• CPR/ BLS as per AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
• Outpatient experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress.
• Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning.
• Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants.
• Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education.
• Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development.
• May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students and residents.

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.

• Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
• Outpatient experience, preferred
  Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Physical Therapist (PT)
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
