Job summary

UPMC - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking a Float Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. The role involves evaluation, development of individualized treatment plans, and education to improve mobility and function.

You will rotate through North Pod, with a Monday–Friday schedule and no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements. New graduates are welcome and training is available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active license in practicing state required.
• CPR/BLS certifications required per AHA standards.
• Outpatient experience preferred.
• Act 33/34/73 clearances with renewal.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress.
• Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning.
• Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants.
• Provide home exercise programs and patient/family education.
• Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and continuing education.
• May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students.

Float Physical Therapist

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. This is a float role that will work in our North Pod.
No weekends No holidays No on-call

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.

• Outpatient experience, preferred

  Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Physical Therapist (PT)
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
