Job summary

UPMC - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence‑based therapies to improve mobility and quality of life.

You will work a Monday–Friday schedule, with no weekends or holidays, and opportunities for training, continued education, and a sign-on bonus. PSLF eligibility and strong retirement benefits are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Active license in the practicing state required.
• CPR certification required per AHA standards.
• Graduate of an APTA-approved physical therapy program.
• Outpatient experience through clinicals or employment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress.
• Document patient care, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning.
• Communicate patient status with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants.
• Provide home exercise programs and patient education.
• Rotate through treatment areas as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development.
• May serve as a clinical instructor for PT students and residents.

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapy interventions, monitor progress, and educate patients and families to help achieve optimal outcomes. You will work with a diverse patient population, helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and overall quality of life.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
• Outpatient experience through clinicals or emloyment, preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Physical Therapist (PT)
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
