Job summary

Labcorp in Salem, VA, is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team. The role involves blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques across all age groups, specimen handling, and data entry for patient information.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of phlebotomy experience or an approved certification, and a valid driver’s license. Competitive hourly pay and a floating schedule with travel across sites are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training from an accredited agency (in lieu of work experience).
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely in the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
