Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Software Verification and Validation Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA, San Jose, CA, or Houston, TX, with remote US options. Lead verification campaigns for flight software and simulation systems, develop HIL/SIL procedures, and drive automation and process improvements across the V&V lifecycle.

The role requires a BS in CS or AE (or related), 8+ years V&V experience, and strong technical writing and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• 8 years of software V&V experience.
• Experience authoring test procedures, driving process improvements and managing defects/non-conformances.
• Experience with technical writing and cross-functional stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive software verification plans and procedures for flight software, including software on payload and customer furnished equipment (CFE).
• Develop and execute requirement and use case/scenario based test procedures in a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) environment and document test results to ensure that software system requirements are met.
• Support V&V life cycle and technical roadmap definition for flight software testing and define the overarching validation strategy across test phases.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and champion test automation that reduces human error and manual intervention.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and technical authority for test processes and represent organization in Test Preparation and Build Delivery Reviews.
• Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems).
• Ability to travel to Palo Alto, CA occasionally.
