Job summary

Rocket Lab in Littleton, Colorado is seeking a Flight Software Intern to support design and testing of flight software for emulated hardware. You will work with a mentor and the MAX Flight Software team on real engineering challenges.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a BS/MS/PhD in CS/CE/SE or Electrical Engineering, with at least 3 months of applied engineering experience and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This on-site, 12-week internship starts May or June 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's or doctorate in CS/CE/SE or Electrical Engineering.
• GPA of 3.0 or above required.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or projects).
• Willingness to work on-site for 12 weeks starting May/June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Design and test flight software with the MAX Flight Software team.
• Collaborate with mentors and other engineers to grow technically and professionally.
• Apply engineering concepts to solve real hardware/software challenges.
• Attend regular 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to track progress.
