Job summary

Rocket Lab USA in Littleton, Colorado is seeking a Flight Software Intern to support the MAX Flight Software team in designing and testing flight software, including work with emulated hardware.

This on-site, 12-week internship offers mentorship, opportunities to attend tech talks, and collaboration across engineering groups to solve real challenges.

You will gain practical experience in C/C++, Python, Rust, and Git, and have a path toward professional growth within a fast-moving space company.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree program in Computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering, electrical engineering or related field and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

Responsibilities

• Support MAX Flight Software team in designing and testing flight software
• Enhance testing abilities against emulated hardware
• Collaborate with mentors and teammates to deliver results
• Attend frequent 1:1 and tech talks to facilitate learning
