Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam is hiring a Flight Paramedic to transport patients and assist in scene calls. You’ll operate on a professional team with safety standards and participation in pre-flight and post-flight procedures.

Minimum 3 years in a911 or critical care and EMT-P licensure with required BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP trauma certifications. FP-C within 24 months is required; instructor certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a911 or critical care setting.
• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) required within 24 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
• Perform daily base checks, including narcotics count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from initial contact until handoff to the receiving facility.
• Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
• Maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education and safety procedures.
• Be knowledgeable in use and maintenance of equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals and the public.
• Function as a medical flight team member and participate in briefings and debriefings.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and provide pilot support as needed.
