Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam is hiring a Flight Paramedic to join our air-transport crew, delivering high-quality pre-hospital and intra-hospital care during patient transport and scene responses. You will help ensure safety, documentation, and compliance while working with a professional team.

The role requires a state EMT-P license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP, and FP-C within 24 months, with instructor certifications preferred. Expect rigorous flights, ongoing training, and strong teamwork across EMS partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) required within 24 months from date of hire.
• Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within required time frames.
• Perform daily base checks, including narcotics count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from first contact to handoff to receiving facility.
• Maintain competency through ongoing labs and clinical experiences.
• Document licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Education Manual.
• Knowledgeable in equipment use and routine maintenance for emergency program gear.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public.
• Functions as a medical flight team member.
• Attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings and complete required documentation.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot support as needed (radio, navigation, visual observation).
• Comply with safety standards to ensure safety of crew, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
• Fill open or vacant shifts as directed by Regional Director.
