Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam seeks a Flight Paramedic to join our team of air transportation professionals. You will transport patients to and from facilities and perform scene call work with a focus on high safety standards and quality patient care.

The role requires current EMT-P and FP-C within 24 months, plus advanced certifications. Responsibilities include completing electronic records, daily base checks, and delivering pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care.

Qualifications

• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certifications required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) within 24 months from date of hire.
• Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
• Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from initial contact until patient handoff.
• Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
• Maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, and continuing education in the Education Manual.
• Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals and the public.
• Function as a medical flight team member and participate in pre-mission briefings.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checks and pilot assistance as needed.
• Comply with safety standards to ensure safety of crew, patients and equipment.
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
• Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as directed by the Regional Director.
