Job summary

Florida Tech is seeking an Operations Control Coordinator to support Flight Operations with a dispatch-focused role. The candidate will coordinate with scheduling and reporting, ensure documentation for international flights, and participate in the Safety Management System.

FAA credentials or Dispatcher certificate are required, along with MS Office proficiency. The position requires a flexible schedule, strong communication, and prior safety or customer service experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or six months to one year of relevant work experience.
• FAA Private Pilot certificate with instrument rating, or FAA Dispatcher Certificate.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Must qualify as FAA Test proctor within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of Talon-ETA and TFBO software.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Prior Safety Management Systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate safety-related concerns to pilots, management, and other departments.
• Monitor all flight operations and record departures and arrivals.
• Use ETA software to perform daily operations related to training and flight activities.
• Coordinate with scheduling, line service, maintenance, and managers as appropriate.
• Authorize solo flights by reviewing pilot documentation and flight plans.
• Initiate emergency action plan procedures and notify appropriate personnel.
• Ensure all international and overnight flights have proper documentation filed prior to departure.
• Create work orders for aircraft malfunctions.
• Verify available resources are in suitable condition for use.
• Use checklists for opening and closing procedures.
• Record all incidents in logs and complete forms.
• Respond to practice area frequency and monitor other frequencies as needed.
• Comply with Florida Tech Aviation manuals.
