Job summary

Florida Tech in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Operations Control Coordinator to support safe, efficient flight operations. The role focuses on dispatch with responsibilities in scheduling and reporting, and active involvement in the Safety Management System.

You will communicate safety concerns, monitor flights, and coordinate with multiple departments while maintaining high service levels for pilots and students.

Qualifications

• At least an associate degree or 6 months to 1 year of relevant work experience.
• FAA private pilot certificate with instrument rating or FAA Dispatcher Certificate.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Must qualify as FAA Test proctor within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of Talon-ETA and TFBO software.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Prior Safety Management Systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Communicate safety-related concerns to pilots, management, and departments.
• Monitor flight operations and record departures/arrivals.
• Use ETA to perform daily operations for training and flight activities.
• Coordinate with scheduling, line service, maintenance, and managers.
• Authorize solo flights after reviewing pilot docs and flight plans.
• Initiate emergency action procedures and notify relevant personnel.
