Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an entry-oriented engineer to join the avionics instrumentation team in Florida. You will design ruggedized electronics enclosures and sensor installations for spaceflight hardware, building CAD models, applying GD&T, and contributing to flight hardware documentation.

You will work with senior engineers to grow in avionics packaging, gain hands-on experience with Windchill, and support design reviews while learning aerospace materials and finishes.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or related technical field.
• Proficiency with a 3D CAD platform (Creo, SolidWorks, NX, CATIA or similar).
• Basic understanding of drafting standards (ASME Y14.5) and ability to learn quickly.
• 5+ years of relevant design/engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Create and update 2D and 3D models and drawings for electronics enclosures and sensor packages.
• Support LRU and sensor/harness installation drawings and specifications.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 with mentorship from senior engineers.
• Process drawing releases, revisions, and configuration data within Windchill (PLM).
• Assist engineers with design iterations and trade studies.
• Prepare drawing packages and technical documentation for design reviews.
• Learn aerospace materials, finishes, and treatment specifications.
