Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Merritt Island, FL, is seeking an entry- to mid-level engineer to join the avionics instrumentation team. You will design rugged electronics enclosures, model in CAD, apply GD&T, and support sensor installations for spaceflight hardware.

This role offers growth into avionics packaging and instrumentation design. You will collaborate with senior engineers, learn Windchill for part and drawing control, and contribute to flight hardware documentation.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a technical field (Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace).
• Proficiency with a 3D CAD platform gained via coursework or projects.
• Basic drafting standards knowledge or aptitude to learn quickly.
• 5+ years of relevant design/engineering experience, internships count.
• U.S. citizen or eligible status for work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Create/update 2D/3D models and drawings for electronics enclosures and sensors.
• Support LRU and sensor/harness installation drawings and specs.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 with mentor guidance.
• Manage drawing releases and config data in Windchill (PLM).
• Assist with design iterations and trade studies across disciplines.
• Prepare drawing packages for design reviews and documentation.
• Learn aerospace material specs and finishes.
• Communicate progress and blockers to engineers and leads.
