Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled mechanical design engineer to create CAD models and engineering drawings for avionics equipment used on lunar missions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design robust electronics enclosures and mechanical assemblies, ensuring quality and manufacturability.

The role requires hands-on drafting experience, GD&T proficiency, and strong communication skills to support hardware installations and procurement activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an A.S. degree in drafting and design or equivalent designer experience.
• 4+ years of experience designing/drafting mechanical parts, assemblies, enclosures, brackets, test and assembly fixtures.
• Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
• Familiar with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electronics enclosures and mechanical assemblies.
• Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings (parts, assemblies, installation).
• Prepare specifications and work process instructions.
• Lead or participate in engineering design reviews.
