Blue Origin in Seattle, WA seeks an Avionics Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer III to own ruggedized enclosures and mechanical systems from concept to flight release. You will work at the intersection of mechanical design, electrical integration, and space-environment survival with a collaborative team.

The role requires 5+ years in electromechanical avionics packaging, a TS clearance, and strong 3D CAD (Creo/Pro-E) plus GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing electromechanical assemblies, avionics packaging, or related aerospace hardware.
• Own mechanical designs through full lifecycle from requirements to production support.
• Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance required; SCI access preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Own complex avionics packaging assemblies across the full lifecycle (enclosures, chassis, mounting systems).
• Lead thermal, structural, vibration, and fatigue analyses; drive trade studies balancing mass, thermal, and EMI/EMC.
• Deliver models, drawings, specifications, and configuration-controlled release packages.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to enable manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and integration.
• Shape environmental test campaigns end-to-end from planning to verification closeout.
• Mentor junior engineers and engage suppliers through design changes and configuration management.
