Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Tempe, AZ seeks an Aerospace Systems Engineer II to help develop next‑gen flight‑critical actuation systems. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software and test engineers to translate electronic commands into precise mechanical motion for demanding aerospace applications.

The role covers system architecture, modeling, integration, testing and product sustainment across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline required.
• 1.5 years of electro‑mechanical systems engineering experience preferred.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical/electrical interfaces and control concepts.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability for complex aerospace actuation systems.
• Develop and integrate electro‑mechanical actuation systems for flight control applications.
• Support architecture development and system‑level design trade studies.
• Develop physics‑based models of actuators, motors, power transmission, sensors and control systems.
• Analyze system performance, stability, and failure modes.
• Design and evaluate control architectures for flight‑critical applications.
• Conduct modeling and simulation using MATLAB/Simulink; support HIL testing and lab activities.
• Interface with aerospace customers on technical requirements and development activity.
