Hudson House West Village is seeking a Host who will set the tone for every guest’s experience with a warm, gracious welcome and thoughtful seating. You will manage reservations, support seamless service, and communicate clearly with servers and managers to maintain outstanding front-of-house operations.

The ideal candidate brings a friendly, reliable attitude, a passion for hospitality, and a willingness to complete training on service standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Excellent guest-focused communication and professionalism.
• Willingness to complete training quizzes on service standards.
• Certification for food handling as required by state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide concierge-level hospitality, ensuring every guest feels welcome from arrival through departure.
• Build genuine relationships with guests, engaging on a name-to-name basis.
• Strategize seating and dining room flow using RESY and guest profiles.
• Maintain RESY database with notes and updates for private bookings and events.
• Seat guests efficiently balancing experience with table availability.
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, layouts, and seat numbers for clear communication.
• Answer phone calls with warmth and professionalism.
• Coordinate seating plans with servers, managers, and hosts.
• Assist with guest inquiries and special requests, exceeding expectations.
• Execute opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures to keep the host stand organized.
