Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking an Education Support Specialist – Test Proctor to support the Testing Center. This part-time, in-person role may require two Saturdays per month and flexible weekday hours between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The position emphasizes confidentiality, customer service, and the secure handling of testing materials, with responsibilities spanning administration, scheduling, and student assistance.

Qualifications

• Consistent record of on-time attendance and confidential handling of sensitive information.
• Ability to work two Saturdays per month (10 AM–2 PM) and flex hours within 8:00–20:00.
• Experience in customer-facing roles with effective problem resolution.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of tests online and on paper for PVCC and non-PVCC students, licensures, and certifications.
• Send/receive confidential testing material to and from faculty at PVCC and other institutions.
• Maintain integrity of testing information and confidentiality.
• Handle day-to-day operations: answer calls, manage email, organize materials, and calendar.
• Observe students during testing via security cameras and computer monitoring program; provide troubleshooting as needed.
• Assist students with special accommodations and technology; uphold a welcoming environment.
