Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond seeks a part-time Academic Testing and Support Assistant to provide onsite classroom support and exam proctoring at distance sites in Roanoke and Abingdon, VA. The role supports faculty, instructors, and students during Monday–Thursday mornings.

Preferred candidates will have experience with students, promote a respectful, professional environment, and be capable of interpreting policies; Canvas and ExamSoft experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain a safe and supportive educational environment.
• Exposure to classroom management or classroom technician/assistant experience.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
• Commitment to fostering respect and professionalism with a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite classroom support to faculty, instructors, and students at distance sites.
• Proctor exams and other instructional activities.
• Serve as liaison between distance site students and Department Chair, Program Director, and staff.
• Inform department leaders of student statuses and potential barriers to performance.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable policies and regulations.
