Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) seeks a part-time Education Support Specialist - Test Proctor to support the Testing Center and PTCC. The role emphasizes confidentiality, security, and customer service for a variety of tests and licenses.

The incumbent will administer online and paper tests, coordinate confidential materials, and maintain testing schedules while ensuring a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Qualifications

• Consistent record of on-time attendance and reliable task completion.
• Ability to work two Saturdays per month (10 AM–2 PM).
• Experience in customer-facing roles with positive feedback from performance evaluations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience serving customers from diverse backgrounds.
• References/reviews highlight effective teamwork.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Ability to convey information clearly (verbal and written).
• Managed multiple responsibilities with minimal errors under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Administer a variety of tests for PVCC and non-PVCC students, licensures, and certifications.
• Send/receive confidential testing material with faculty at PVCC and other institutions.
• Maintain integrity of testing information and confidentiality.
• Handle day-to-day operations: answer calls, manage emails, organize materials.
• Manage Testing Center calendar and multi-step procedures while assisting customers.
• Observe students during testing using security cameras and monitoring software.
• Troubleshoot as needed and foster a welcoming environment.
• Demonstrate professionalism under stressful conditions and assist with accommodations.
