Job summary

The Lewiston field office of the State of Idaho Tax Commission is hiring a temporary/part-time Technical Records Specialist 1. The position handles information gathering, problem resolution, and data entry related to tax records, with flexible hours and no benefits.

You will interpret tax rules, access various information sources, and provide documentation and reports. Minimum qualifications include at least 6 months in related areas and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in records monitoring and problem solving.
• Experience researching sources to solve problems.
• Experience interpreting regulations and applying program knowledge.
• Experience entering and retrieving data in a computerized record system.

Responsibilities

• Gather information, make decisions, resolve problems, and respond to inquiries.
• Use independent judgment to follow methods, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct searches across multiple sources to obtain information.
• Provide specialized support with in-depth program knowledge.
• Review and process records, payments and documents.
• Interpret and explain tax rules and procedures.
• Explain requirements to others, internal and external.
• Access and update records systems and develop reports.
• Handle calls from delinquent taxpayers.
