The Idaho Department of Insurance (DOI) is searching for a Technical Records Specialist 2. The selected candidate will play a key role in our Rates and Forms Section under the Market Conduct Bureau and reports directly to the Rates and Forms Supervisor.
This position reviews and processes insurance filings and policies; determines and explains compliance with the laws, rules, and regulations to take appropriate action; provides a variety of support functions and maintains an electronic record system.
The ideal candidate will have focused experience in the property and casualty insurance field with additional experience in health insurance. They will also be able to communicate effectively in person and virtually through email and/or on the phone, and will be able to work independently or collaboratively as needed.

Experience:
Typically gained by at least one (1) year of full-time work experience where this duty was a primary responsibility of the job.
Typically gained by at least one (1) year of full-time work experience reviewing documents or actions for compliance with laws, regulations, and/or rules; AND/OR through explaining to others how laws, regulations or rules apply to specific situations. General reception duties are not at the level required for this position.
Typically gained by at least one (1) year of experience performing extensive research and analysis of highly complex or technical material requiring in-depth program knowledge to determine if requirements were met and if they complied with established laws and/or regulations. Research would include contacting a variety of sources both inside and outside the organization to obtain and verify information in order to determine the appropriate course of action.
Typically gained by at least one (1) year of full-time work experience de‑escalating tense situations with various customers who could be agitated or upset. Personal or family-type situations are not at the skill level required for this position.
Typically gained by at least one (1) year of full-time work experience where you were responsible for reviewing electronic record systems.
Typically gained by at least one (1) year of full-time work experience where this duty was a primary function of the job; OR successful completion of at least one (1) college‑ level course in English Composition, Business Communications, or related field PLUS at least six (6) months full‑time work experience where this duty was a regular part of the job.
