Job summary

Nurse Next Door is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides to provide nonmedical support to seniors at their homes in California. Flexible 10–40 hour per week schedules with morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts.

Applicants must be 18+, registered with the CA Home Care Aide Registry, pass background checks, and meet CA training requirements. Prior caregiving experience is not required. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance and/or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Help clients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living).
• Assist with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing.
• Assist with transfers, positioning and ambulation.
• Support prescribed exercises provided by health personnel.
• Plan and prepare meals and assist with eating.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Perform household tasks and companionship.
• Record all hours worked and report changes to supervisor.
