Job summary

RTI International is seeking Part-Time Field Interviewers to support the National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG). You will travel to selected locations, screen and recruit respondents, and conduct in-person interviews using a project tablet.

This role offers a flexible, part-time schedule, about 20 hours per week, with evenings and weekends, and requires good communication, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently outside a traditional office.

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• Effective communication skills through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and reliable personal automobile.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other associated equipment.
• Access to password-protected Wi-Fi connection for data transmissions and administrative responsibilities.
• Able to keep project information confidential.
• Willingness to work approximately 20 hours a week, including weekends and weekday evenings, on a regular basis with occasional weekday daytime hours.
• Must be comfortable working in unfamiliar areas

Responsibilities

• Travel frequently to selected locations to recruit study participants.
• Locate dwelling units and identify eligible adults for screening interviews and potential main interviews.
• Administer screening interviews and recruit respondents for longer NSFG interviews when selected.
• Interact with participants and approach households without prior appointments.
• Collect confidential information and administer standardized questionnaires.
• Manage administrative duties, including conference calls and online trainings.
• Transmit data as scheduled and handle project-issued equipment with care.
• Attend scheduled meetings virtually and maintain reliable home internet access.
• Meet weekly with supervisor via Zoom and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
