Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. in Ferris, TX is seeking a Fleet Manager to build and maintain driver relationships and oversee daily transportation operations.

You will partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads and coordinate with billing, safety, and maintenance to keep shipments on time. The role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent fleet/logistics experience, plus supervisory experience and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics, or 2–3 years of fleet management/transportation experience.
• 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and experience with computer terminals and satellite communications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships to meet driver needs (home time, payroll, equipment issues).
• Partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, freight type, mileage, stops and driver availability.
• Ensure adherence to customer dynamics service expectations and Werner’s values to improve customer value.
• Coordinate with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance, and external vendors.
• Collaborate with the Dedicated Logistics Manager to fill and maintain a full driver board.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dedicated Logistics Manager.
• Maintain timely attendance according to the scheduled shift.
