Job summary

Sysco Raleigh, LLC is seeking a fleet maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs to ensure safe, reliable operations. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet, including refrigeration systems, engines, and transmissions.

You will mentor junior technicians, pursue leadership opportunities, and maintain documentation on work orders while complying with DOT regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-year school and 4 years of experience or 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
• 1-year experience in a leadership role (preferred).
• ASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (Preferred, Not Required).
• Mobile Refrigeration (EPA 608) Type II Certification preferred; Mobile Air Conditioning (EPA 609) Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs supervisory roles when the fleet supervisors or manager is not accessible.
• Mentor, teach and share expertise with the fleet technician I and II to aid in their development to positions of greater responsibility.
• Expressed desire to advance to management positions of greater authority.
• Demonstrates clear and concise decision-making skills related to fleet repair and availability of fleet for operations teams.
• Provides clear communication and reporting to the fleet supervisor or manager on a daily basis.
• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles within planned time tolerances.
• Maximize the safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the life cycle of the fleet.
• Perform FAI/CVI inspections in accordance with all federal, state and local legal and regulatory agencies.
