Job summary

Forward Air Corp. seeks a FleetSafety Coordinator - Driver Compliance to maintain fleet safety posture and FMCSA compliance. You will manage driver qualification files, activate drivers for dispatch, and verify DOT items in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet, AS400.
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills, compliance, auditing.
• Familiar with DOT/Agency compliance concepts, practices, procedures.
• Excellent writing and proofreading; strong verbal and organizational skills.
• Goal oriented and self-managing with time and project focus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure driver qualification files comply with Part 391 and policy.
• Complete employment verifications and track gaps.
• Keep initial compliance items (license, DOT physical, self-certification) up to date.
• Distribute self-certification physical reports to operations groups.
• Activate drivers to active dispatch status per Part 391; inform status changes.
• Confirm DOT physical, drug screening and insurance requirements per Part 391.
• Ensure contractors meet insurance requirements.
• Activate and place in safety reviews drivers, tractors, and contractors.
• Notify insurance of additions/changes.
• Assist Safety Department with phone inquiries and greet guests.
• Other duties as assigned.
