Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Swedesboro, New Jersey, is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, with a focus on safe, timely freight movement and best-in-class customer service.

The role trains you to oversee driver compliance, routing, and load planning, while building relationships with drivers and carriers. It requires willingness to travel and relocate regionally as needed and may involve payroll,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of experience in management, transportation/logistics, business administration, account management, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience
• Willingness to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• Willingness to regionally relocate dependent on account assignment
• Experience managing a team and ability to resolve conflicts at individual, group, or situation level

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and safe outside carriers to ensure seamless carrier setup and productivity
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects related to optimizing fleet operations and profitability
• Learn to train and orient drivers and employees and assist with customer systems
• Becoming proficient in maximizing efficiency of fleet operations and presenting customer reporting and financial analyses
• Manage yard and equipment maintenance to ensure preventative services are scheduled and safety issues fixed
• Assist with routing, planning, and handling service issues to meet customer requirements
