Job summary

Werner Enterprises is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee day-to-day operations including driver management, load planning, and customer service to ensure satisfaction and KPI attainment. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics preferred.
• Six months to one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with proven management ability; computer terminal and satellite communications experience required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships with a focus on home time, payroll, equipment issues, and safety.
• Assign drivers to loads by optimizing origination, destination, freight type, miles, stops, and driver availability.
• Utilize AS400, Qualcomm satellite, face-to-face communication and phone to manage operations.
• Align with customer dynamics, service expectations, goals and initiatives to improve value for the Customer and Werner.
• Coordinate with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance and external vendors.
• Collaborate with Dedicated Manager and/or Operations Manager to keep a full board of drivers.
