Job summary

Werner Enterprises Inc. is seeking a Fleet Manager/Logistics professional in the United States.

The role emphasizes building and maintaining driver relationships, coordinating with multiple internal teams, and optimizing driver loads based on origin, destination, freight type, and miles. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in business or transportation/logistics and 2–3 years of fleet management experience, with supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics or related field; 2–3 years fleet management or transportation experience preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, proven management ability, and ability to operate computer terminals and satellite communications systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships to meet needs such as home time, payroll, and equipment issues.
• Partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads by origin, destination, freight type, miles, stops and directions.
• Coordinate with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance and external vendors.
• Work with the Dedicated Logistics Manager/Operations Manager to maintain a full board of drivers.
• Ensure timely attendance according to the shift schedule.
