Job summary

Werner Enterprises in the United States is seeking a Transportation Manager responsible for day-to-day transportation operations, driver management, load planning and customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.

You will contribute to revenue generation, safety, recruiting, equipment maintenance monitoring and driver payroll, aligning with KPI targets set by the Dedicated Logistics Manager, Operations Manager and our customer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics) preferred.
• Two to three years of fleet management or transportation experience preferred.
• Six months to one year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships through understanding and meeting driver needs.
• Assigning drivers to loads by optimizing load information with driver needs and availability using AS400, Qualcomm, face-to-face communication and phone.
• Understand and adhere to customer dynamics, service expectations, goals, and initiatives to improve value for the Customer and Werner.
• Interface with departments such as billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance and external vendors.
• Work with Dedicated Manager and/or Operations Manager to fill and maintain a full board of drivers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics
