Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking Fleet Mechanics to maintain and repair a fleet of mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks, tankers, and other equipment. We offer on-the-job training for newcomers and a supportive, safety-focused shop environment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical/electrical/hydraulic issues, and keep detailed repair records. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; CDL is preferred. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational certification in diesel repair a plus.
• Willingness to complete SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
• CDL preferred.
• Experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician is a plus.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment (oil changes, lubrications, filter changes).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in mixer trucks and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repairs needed.
• Rebuild or replace major components (engine heads, blocks, starters, transmissions).
• Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Ensure safety policies are followed in shop and on job sites.
• Keep accurate maintenance records in company systems.
• Stay updated on diesel engine technology and repair techniques.
