Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to service mixer trucks and heavy equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs to keep operations on schedule.

You'll work with diagnostic tools, learn and apply new diesel technology, and collaborate with the operations team while upholding safety standards. Entry-level candidates welcome with on-the-job training; CDL preferred but not required for entry.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable shifts as needed to support fleet operations.
• On-the-job training for those new to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks, tankers, and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Rebuild, replace, or repair major components such as engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures in the workshop and on job sites.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work using company systems.
• Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques through ongoing learning.
