Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to keep diesel-powered mixer trucks and heavy equipment running safely and efficiently. You’ll perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime.

Entry-level applicants are welcome with on‑the‑job training; a high school diploma and CDL are required, with opportunities for advancement and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable shifts to support fleet operations.
• On-the-job training available for entry level candidates.
• Experience as diesel/mechanic/heavy equipment tech is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems preferred.
• CDL is required or preferred; ability to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and plan repairs.
• Rebuild or replace major components such as engine parts and transmissions.
• Collaborate with operations to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Ensure safety policies are followed in workshop and on sites.
• Keep maintenance records in company systems.
• Stay updated on diesel engine technology through ongoing learning.
