Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking Fleet Mechanics to service a fleet of mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks, tankers, and other heavy equipment. The role combines hands-on diagnostics with preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operations and on-time delivery.

Entry-level candidates are welcomed with on-the-job training; prior diesel mechanic or heavy equipment experience is a plus. CDL may be preferred and safety-first mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes and filter replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on mixer trucks and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Rebuild or replace major components such as engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
• Collaborate with operations to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in company systems.
• Uphold safety policies in the workshop and on job sites.
• Stay updated on diesel engine technology and repair techniques.
