Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) seeks a Fleet Mechanic to maintain our fleet of mixer trucks, loaders, and heavy equipment. You’ll perform routine service, diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and ensure safety compliance across shop and field environments.

The role offers on-the-job training for newcomers, with opportunities to advance as you gain diesel engine expertise and hands-on repair skills while contributing to on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.
• CDL is preferred.
• Proven or aspiring diesel mechanic with heavy equipment maintenance exposure.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks, tankers, and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
• Rebuild, replace, or repair major components such as engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
• Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures in the workshop and on job sites.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work using company systems.
• Stay updated on the latest diesel engine technology and repair techniques through ongoing learning.
