Job summary

FedEx Freight in Houston is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other fleet equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and execute repairs to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year maintenance experience or a related certification, ASE certifications and Class A CDL preferred, and having your own tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or equivalent certification/Apprentice Program.
• Medium/Heavy Truck ASE certifications and CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment and diagnostic systems.
• Basic knowledge of gas/diesel engines; lifting up to ~110 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and adjusts equipment for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Documents maintenance performed, completes written and electronic reports.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Paint and body work on vehicles, as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
