Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostic work, and repairs to ensure safe, efficient operation. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of vehicle maintenance experience (or related certification within 60 days of completion), and ASE certifications with Class A CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year experience performing vehicle maintenance or related certificate within 60 days of completion.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and tools for troubleshooting.
• Basic computer skills including maintenance programs and diagnostic systems.
• Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines.
• Able to lift components weighing ~110 pounds with assistance.
• Able to operate vehicles with manual/automatic transmission.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Perform basic diagnostics to identify trouble and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Work with others to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance, complete reports in writing and electronically.
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and document the work.
• Perform paint and body work as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
