Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment, focusing on preventive maintenance and diagnostics.

The role requires documenting work accurately, performing safety inspections, and collaborating with teammates. Starting pay is $30.70 per hour with potential for shift differentials and advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or eligible for ASE certificate or apprentice program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and vehicle diagnostics.
• Basic computer skills including maintenance programs and diagnostic systems.
• Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engines.
• Able to lift components weighing ~110 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmission.
• Paint and body work experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians in performing preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures proper and accurate documentation of all maintenance performed in reports and systems.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles, as required.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations and company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
