Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain a range of equipment including tractors, trailers, and forklifts. You will perform advanced diagnostics, drive safety-focused repairs, and ensure thorough documentation of all work completed.

The role offers pay at $36.17/hour plus benefits and potential bonuses based on ASE credentials. Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma, a heavy-duty maintenance certificate, and Master ASE certification; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience in vehicle maintenance.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Heavy-Duty Vehicle Maintenance Certificate may substitute for one year experience.
• Master ASE certification may substitute for two years experience.
• Proficient with brakes, electrical, PMI, powertrain, and trailing equipment.
• Medium/Heavy Truck Master ASE Certification and Class A CDL preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of gas/diesel engines.
• Experience with diagnostic systems and maintenance programs.
• Ability to lift up to 110 pounds with equipment or assistance.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Ability to operate manual or automatic transmissions.
• Paint and body work experience preferred.
• Able to work independently or in a team; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, modifies and performs preventive maintenance inspections; troubleshoots vehicle fleet including tractors, trailers, forklifts and other equipment
• Performs advanced diagnostics to identify source of trouble and performs repairs and/or replaces or rebuilds all components and systems
• Makes necessary adjustments to equipment for safe and efficient operation and prepares required safety documentation
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced technicians
• Ensures proper and accurate documentation of all maintenance performed, completes reports in writing and electronically
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles, as required
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as required
